Dancing in London

Quick post just to let everyone know I'm still alive and well. Have been getting more into dancing and hence, with dance, work, socialising and generally going out, have hardly spent any time at home. As a result my blog has been sorely neglected.

Started taking classes at Pineapple Dance Studios in Covent Garden. They have a crazy amount of classes running all day in twelve different studios, ranging from ballet and jazz, to hip hop and street, belly dancing, yoga ... and even Michael Jackson Style Dance and Bollywood! For a sample Saturday timetable click here. So far have tried out the beginners ballet, commercial jazz and yoga. But also keen to try out some of the other stuff on offer.

Have also found a great salsa night on Sunday nights run by Leon Rose. Been there twice ... great classes, and the social dancing afterwards is fabulous. Unfortunately (though I'm not really complaining) I expect to be spending lots of Sundays out of the country over the next couple of months. Am off to Budapest this weekend, and have trips lined up to Madrid and Hong Kong (a whole week spanning two weekends!). Can't wait to go to Hong Kong and do some serious shopping. Am so sick of all my clothes and wearing the same things all the time, having arrived with limited wardrobe (about a suitcase and half's worth). Shopping in London is a bit mixed, with lots of chain/department stores selling very similar things, and much the good stuff being quite expensive.

Found a decent tango social night on Tues nights - small but with a good vibe. Haven't found find very good teachers yet, though to be fair, I haven't hafd a chance to look into heaps of tango dance schools yet.

Anyway, best be off to bed now. Have lots more to write, hopefully at some point soon(not the least of which include details and pics of a mini holiday Munich a couple of weekends ago for Oktoberfest ... was great fun!)...
